Message : If someone can't even get respectable times driving in a straight line, how are they going to get good lap times on a curvy roadcourse?

the only driver skill required in drag racing is timing and throttle control during wheel slippage from a STOP.
how does that make a difference on a road course? your always rolling from 30mph to 130mph. there is no need for a 'good launch'.

: I think some people simply don't have very good reflexes and/or cannot gain a feel for the machine they are operating, and they'll be a poor driver no matter what the task is, whether it is a straight line or a road course.
the 'reflexes' required for fag racing and road course racing are totally different.
fag racing; fine tune throttle.... fast shifting.
road courses; fine tune throttle, fine tune steering, fine tune braking, heavy footed braking, periferal vision, shifting control, speed control...etc...etc... NONE of this applies to fag racing.

i think those who battle for fag racing have never even tried to turn their car at highspeed in a safe controlled environment like a high speed drivers education event.
it's an eye opening, FUN experience.
